September Winemaker Update
The scent of fermenting grapes fills the air, and we're officially in the heart of harvest season. The leaves are just beginning to turn, signaling a new chapter for both our vineyard and your wine club allocation. This is a particularly special time for us, as we're celebrating our very first estate harvest right here in Chalk Hill!
The vineyard is buzzing with activity as we begin picking our estate-grown Malbec. Our team is out among the vines, hand-selecting the clusters at the peak of their ripeness. It's a truly incredible experience to see the culmination of a year's hard work, as these grapes will soon become one of our signature wines. We're celebrating this exciting milestone with a lineup that captures the spirit of the season.
Your September Wine Club Selection
2019 Chalk Hill Malbec: In honor of our first-ever estate harvest, we're featuring our Malbec. This wine is rich, full-bodied, and the perfect representation of the work happening in our vineyard right now.
2023 Sierra Foothills Zinfandel: A fan favorite, this bold Zinfandel from the Sierra Foothills bursts with jammy fruit and is a perfect companion for a backyard cookout.
2024 Orange Barn Ramato of Pinot Grigio: Our newly released Ramato is a unique take on Pinot Grigio, with beautiful copper hues and complex notes from extended skin contact.
We can't wait for you to enjoy this wonderful selection and join us in celebrating the bounty of the harvest.
Cheers, Russ and Katy
